Nathaniel Hill: Classical Guitarist

Nathaniel Hill is a classical guitarist known for his refined artistry, compelling stage presence, and deep musical sensitivity. A graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music, he studied Guitar Performance with Grammy Award-winner Jason Vieaux. Nathaniel is continuing studies at CIM for a Double Graduate Diploma in both Guitar Performance with Jason Vieaux and Orchestral Conducting with Tito Muñoz.

Since beginning his studies at CIM, Nathaniel has established himself as a dynamic performer and collaborator across solo, chamber, and orchestral settings. He has presented numerous solo recitals throughout Ohio, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Virginia, and Georgia, building a reputation as a seasoned and expressive concert artist.

At CIM, Nathaniel has performed widely in chamber ensembles, including duos with a variety of orchestral instruments and voice, as well as trios and mixed quartets. In 2024, he was awarded third prize in the Open Division of the Queens International Guitar Competition. In 2025, Nathaniel was named CIM’s “most gifted classical guitarist” for four consecutive years—an exceptional and rare distinction.

As a concerto soloist, Nathaniel made his debut at age 15 with the Piedmont Chamber Orchestra, returning for additional solo appearances in 2022 and 2025. He also soloed with the Asheville Symphony Orchestra at age 18 and was a finalist in the MasterWorks Festival Concerto Competition.

He has performed in masterclasses and lessons with many of the world’s foremost guitarists, including Jason Vieaux, Colin Davin, David Russell, Christopher Parkening, Andrew Zohn, René Izquierdo, Rovshan Mamedkuliev, and others.

With a nuanced approach to tone, interpretation, and expression, Nathaniel continues to cultivate a wide-ranging career as a performer, collaborator, and advocate for the classical guitar.
